When the scoreboard violated the speed limit…

25 03 2006
Two weeks ago, i entered my TV room and turned on the TV.
While scrolling around the channels, i found a sports channel with a cricket match going on it. ( I Cricket)
A one day match was going on and it was lunch break (means that one innings was over).
Just to quickly check on the score, i kept on watching for a few moments and when i finally got a glimpse of the scoreboard, i almost leaked in my pants……….
  • What the F*** ?
  • Is this Real ?
  • No, there must be a typing mistake!
This was my immediate response, coz the sight that i was seeing was far too un-real.
it said:
Australia: 434/4 in 50 overs.
but the commentator said something else… "…. historical performacne by Australia…"
Hmmmm, I thought, ThIS SCORE IS REAL!
But, Were the Aussies playing against a bunch of School kids ?
No, It was one of the South African Team!
"Proteas are doomed..", I said with utter confidence and turned off the television and went away.
1 hour later:
I came back to the same room, (with the thought of 434 totally out of my head)
Pressed the power-on button of the TV, and soon after i was facing the same channel with the South Africans trying to chase what was supposed to be the highest score in the history of One-Day cricket.
One wicket was already down, Gibbs and Smith were trying to play some shots and they were pretty much playing the way i wanted them to play!
But, after the first 15 overs, they can’t carry the momentum….. Some jerk from inside of me said
I kept on watching, the chase went on and on,
Shots came and balls disappeard into the crowd
The heat was ON!
Smith Played a remarkable innings of 90
Gibbs carried on and made more than 165
Then came the final over.
South Africa 8 down, with a handful of them remaining.
Crowd was cheering, waving flags, "TAKE US HOME, TAKE US HOME" was the chorus…
My heart sang with them,  YEAH!! TAKE US HOME
And it happened, a blow… a yell… a jump… and
South Africa WAS HOME!
Ponting was thunderstruck!
Gilchrist was biting his nails,
the crowd was running into the ground
The Proteas were doing everything except taking off their clothes 😀
For, I lived to see the match which brought the charm of game back into the hearts
This is what the GAME Is all about.

22 03 2006

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.

He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn’t watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn’t realize how harshly I’d spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God’s still small voice came to me and said,

"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You’ll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found ’em, out by the tree.

I picked ’em because they’re pretty like you.
I knew you’d like ’em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I’m very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn’t have yelled at you that way."

He said, "Oh, Mom, that’s okay.

I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company

that we are working for could easily replace us in

a matter of days.

But the family we left behind will feel the loss

for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don’t you think?

So what is behind the story?

Funny SWOT Analysis

15 03 2006

For those who don’t know….

SWOT Analysis:

stands for Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats analysis. In this process, marketing analysts identify the above mentioned aspects of a product and plan a strategy to market a product.

now coming to the funny part….

A man when asked to perform his SWOT analysis, said;

 Strength is my wife
 Weakness is my neighbor’s wife
Opportunity comes when neighbor goes out
Threat comes when I myself go out.

All praise to this great Software!

11 03 2006
Today i had the opportunity to provide support to a client.
This was relatively differnt than conventional support that was usually delivered via Phone, EMail or messenger.
The problem on his end was a fustrating one and i didn’t have the clue as what was causing the problem so i decided to provide support via remote desktop.
Ok, For Non Techies: Remote desktop is a technique in which you control some remote computer by sitting on your own machine.
So, i had to provide remote desktop connectoin to the client and i was behind a firewall and i never knew his IP that i could request to open his IP access.
I decided to use a web-based Remote control as they bypass the firewalls (but the cost is limited bandwidth).
I found a software and i tried on my Local Lan,, Results: PERFECT.
Now came the big day, whether the software will prove itself or ???
I logged on to my computer, and got the access code sent by my client. I logged on to his computer.
The problem surely was a bad one. More of a security and OS configuration problem (some featuers not supported by his version).
I had to write the complete program on the remote machine and it was done in 3+ hours.
I was so so so impressed by the softwre that i dedicate this post to the software and its developers.
The software is called LogMeIn IT Reach. and can be freely downloaded from www.logmein.com
Installation is very simple and no fuss for the not so techies like usual clients.
If anyone reads this post, I must insist that you use their software as it was simple, perfect and with amazingly fast display rate.
Way to go dudes! you are my hero!

The Maulvi Strikes again!…

7 03 2006
The Maulvi A.K.A Mulla is a mighty creature!
This breed has great political strength in the country (although known for the influience in the religious arena)
Everyone among the Muslim community might be frustrated about the blasphemous sketches about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but the Keepers of the religion took it as a chance to start a revolution and the revolution might just be starting!
They called for a rally in Lahore which turned out to be a violent show of religious affection. They burnt buildings, blocked roads, burnt cars/bikes, looted offices and ………..
Then they moved towards Karachi and called for a PEACEFUL rally. and peaceful it was. (surprisingly)
Then, they were not satisfied (coz the political objectives were not achieved) so, they called for a strike.
The strike was a total strike, every shop was closed, every piece of public transport was kept away from the streets, people had no choice but to stay in their homes…………
Then, they called for another strike. The results were the same.
From the above mentioned arguments, any sensible person could have thought that
Imagine those people who work on daily-wages, people who have to work more than 15 hours to earn a little food for their family, WHAT DID THEY GAIN ?
The love of the prophet is in our hearts, no one can take it away. If the Mullas think that they can enforce religion in the country by conducting strikes, they ARE wrong and perhaps quite late as well
Where the F*** where they when the cartoons were published (that was September, 2005) ?
At an instant, they realized (after 4 months) that the cartoons were not right so they should start a revolution.
There could be other peaceful ways to express yourselves rather than burning public property. The means that they always discuss in speeches but fail to implement.
I know this piece of writing would never catch any attention, but this IS the place where i could take it all out.
SO, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE… Think Responsibly and try to convince the people and the world by your positive attitude.
Again, I would just present you with one question…
"What would the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) have done if such an event would have occured in his life time ?"
He was called the PROPHET OF MERCY, (its not me who say this, YOU DO). HE (PBUH) experienced hardships from the masses in his life time but never complianed.. He just prayed to the GOD that may HE give them the sense.
O’ Mullas, Please be sensible.
Think for yourselves
